Visiting a relative

1. The visiting permit

No visit is possible without a permit (permis de visite). For a person on remand (not yet finally convicted), the request is made to the judge in charge of the case; for a convicted person, to the prison governor. The documents to provide are listed in our guide to prisons in France.

2. Booking a visit

Book online, at the prison terminal, or by phone on +33 1 30 23 30 30 (star, 2, then 3), on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Visits take place Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12.30–3.10 pm, and Saturday 12.30–3.15 pm. They last 30 minutes. Remand prisoners may receive three visits a week, convicted prisoners one.

3. Dropping off clothes

Without a permit, clothes can be dropped off on Tuesday and Thursday, 8.30–10 am, at the prisoner’s request.

4. Getting support

The Solidaires 78 association supports prisoners’ families in the Yvelines.
